KMix is KDE's soundcard mixer program. The Sound Mixer lets you adjust the volume of every mixer device that is supported by the soundcard.

When KMix is launched, it sometimes first appears as an icon in the "tray" area of the kicker.

The Audio Mixer is another application used for adjusting the sound settings.
